Keep Shelly In Athens is a chillwave group from Kypseli, Greece, active since 2010. The project begins when a producer known as RΠЯ looks for a collaborator to perform newly written songs, and Sarah P. is introduced through a mutual friend. They start working together and perform as a duo. The group name is a pun on Kypseli, the Athens neighbourhood where the project originates.

Line-up and changes

The group’s members include Myrta and Sarah P. Sarah P. leaves the project in January 2014. Myrtha joins as the new singer in March 2014, and later the group releases the album Philokalia in 2017 with Jessica Bell as vocalist.

Work and performances

Keep Shelly In Athens plays a mixture of electronic and lo-fi-influenced music associated with chillwave and lounge sounds. The group completes four North American headline tours and three European headline tours, with performances in 63 cities across 18 countries. It also appears at festivals including Coachella, Parklife, The Great Escape and Fun Fun Fun.

Later activity

In 2021, the main member of Keep Shelly In Athens announces a collaborative singles series featuring guest vocalists from around the world.
