Jurassic 5

Jurassic 5 is an alternative hip hop group from Los Angeles, United States. The group forms in 1993 and continues to perform.

Line-up

The six members are Chali 2na, Akil, Zaakir, Marc 7, DJ Nu-Mark and Cut Chemist. The group brings together four rappers — Charles Stewart (Chali 2na), Dante Givens (Akil), Courtenay Henderson (Zaakir, also known as Soup) and Marc Stuart (Marc 7) — with two disc jockeys, Mark Potsic (DJ Nu-Mark) and Lucas Macfadden (Cut Chemist).

Origin and activity

Jurassic 5 originates from the Los Angeles venue Good Life. The group later disbands in 2007 after releasing Feedback, with musical differences given as the reason, but returns for live performances in 2013 and issues a new track in 2014. The members also continue to release music as solo artists and in other individual projects.
