Julia Kent

Julia Kent is a cellist and composer from Vancouver, United States, based in New York City. Her work centres on solo cello, contemporary classical and ambient music, and she also writes for film, theatre and dance.

She releases three solo records, including Character, which appears on the Leaf Label. She tours throughout North America and Europe and appears at events including Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Meltdown Festival in London and Unsound Festival in New York City.

As a performer, she also appears with Rasputina, Bela, ANOHNI and the Johnsons, Blind Cave Salamander and the William Parker Double Quartet.
