Jonathan Pie is a fictional British news reporter created and performed by actor and comedian Tom Walker. The character appears in a series of video clips staged as if he is a television journalist speaking off-camera opinions before or after a standard news report.

The first spoof report featuring Pie appears after Jeremy Corbyn becomes leader of the opposition in the UK Parliament. That video responds to media coverage of Corbyn’s past relationship with Diane Abbott. The character later draws wider attention after the 2016 US election, when a report on Donald Trump’s victory goes viral and becomes a YouTube trending video.

Some outlets present Jonathan Pie as if he were a real political reporter, rather than a fictional creation. Walker is approached by several media companies, including RT UK, and works with the Russian government-funded channel for several months before leaving in July 2016. He then appears at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August.
