John Grant is an American singer-songwriter from Buchanan, United States, known for work in alternative rock, folk, folk rock and indie rock. He is a former lead vocalist with The Czars, a band associated with Bella Union.

Solo career

Grant returns as a solo artist in 2010 with Queen of Denmark, his debut solo album. The record is made with Midlake and receives critical acclaim. It is named Mojo magazine’s Album of the Year for 2010 and is also included among the Guardian music critics’ and writers’ ten best albums of that year.

Later releases

His second solo album, Pale Green Ghosts, follows in 2013 and includes guest vocals from Sinéad O’Connor.
