JOANovARC

JOANovARC is a British all-female rock group active since 2011. The band is noted for being the first British female band to appear on the Rock Band Xbox 360 platform, and it works in hard rock and rock.

Releases and recording

The group promotes a debut five-track EP of original material and also records a first full-length album. One of the Rock Band tracks is Sisters, which is available through the Xbox store. The EP is also available to download through iTunes, Amazon and MySpace Music.

The band’s video for Peace of Mind is shot by Rachel Price from the BBC and airs on television stations worldwide.

Live work and touring

JOANovARC tours extensively in Europe and performs in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Live appearances include the London Astoria, Café de Paris, the Garage, the Barfly, Rhythms of the World, Brighton Pride and Gogo Festival, as well as numerous summer festivals. The band also performs at the Harley Davidson Chopper Show in Slovakia and Germany and at Namfest, where it supports Toploader.

Industry and media recognition

The group signs a publishing deal with Speegra Music and Veal Steen in the United States. It also receives interest from media figures including Malcolm Dome of Classic Rock Magazine, Annie Nightingale of BBC Radio 1 and Kelly Betts of BBC Introducing.

The band’s sound is described in the input as having a direct connection to Girlschool and Rock Goddess, placing it in a lineage of British female hard rock groups.
