Jason Rebello

Jason Rebello is a British jazz pianist from Carshalton, United Kingdom, born in 1969. He begins playing piano at the age of nine and starts learning jazz after hearing Herbie Hancock for the first time at sixteen.

Career

Rebello works across jazz, pop, rock and soul, and is associated with jazz, acid jazz, contemporary jazz and jazz fusion. He is known for performing with Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey, James Moody, Gary Burton, Branford Marsalis, Jeff Beck, Chaka Khan and Des'ree.

He receives The Perrier British Jazz Awards and Pat Smyth's Award. Sting asks him to replace Kenny Kirkland after Kirkland's death in 1998, and he records Brand New Day, ...All This Time, Sacred Love and Inside The Songs Of Sacred Love with Sting. Since 2006, he is a member of Jeff Beck's band and appears on Performing This Week... Live at Ronnie Scott's and Emotion & Commotion.
