Jakwob

Jakwob is the recording name of James Jacob, a UK producer and DJ from the Midlands. He works in dubstep and related electronic styles and is associated with Boom Ting Recordings.

Career and style

He first draws wider attention through a bootleg of Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed” and a remix of “Under The Sheets”. He then remixes tracks by Empire Of The Sun, Temper Trap and Penguin Prison, and also has remixes lined up for Audio Bullys, Dan le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip and I Blame Coco.

As a musician, he plays several instruments and spends his teenage years in different bands. His early experience includes jazz, death metal and folk, and that background feeds into a style that crosses dubstep, electro, ghetto-tech and breakbeat. His DJ sets also range across dub, hip-hop, drum and bass and dubstep.
