Ivy Lab
Ivy Lab is a London-based group active since 2013. It is made up of Sabre, Stray and Laurence Reading. The project works across bassline, breakbeat, breaks, club, dance and downtempo, and is associated with trap, halftime, instrumental hip hop, drum and bass and electronic music.
Background
The group emerges from a collaboration between Sabre and Stray, with Halogenix originally involved in the early formation. In early 2012, Sabre, Stray and Halogenix release “Oblique”, a drum and bass track that helps establish their joint work before Ivy Lab becomes the name for the wider project.
Label work and later development
In 2015, the trio create Twenty Twenty London. Halogenix later leaves the project in March 2018 to focus on a solo career. Ivy Lab continues as a project after that, with Sabre, Stray and Laurence Reading listed as the members.
