Implants

Implants is a punk and skate punk group from Los Angeles, active since 2011. The project begins in late 2010 as a collaboration between Chris Del Rio of Ten Foot Pole and Jim Blowers of Pulley, who form the band as an outlet for songs that do not fit their main groups.

Formation and lineup

After the project starts, Del Rio and Blowers contact Rob Ramos of Strung Out, who joins the writing process. They also approach Mando Del Rio of Adolescents about drums and Ken Conte of The Tank about lead vocals. The band later moves to Chris Dalley, who has played with Voodoo Glow Skulls and Ten Foot Pole, for drums. With the lineup complete, the group goes into the studio to record its first set of songs.

Style and context

The band is associated with the LA skate punk scene and brings together musicians connected with several established punk acts, including Strung Out, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Pulley, Ten Foot Pole, The Tank and Adolescents.
