Ilona

Ilona is a Colombian pop singer and singer-songwriter from Bogotá. Born in 1985, she grows up in the city and begins performing music at 15, singing on public transport buses in Bogotá and receiving money from listeners. She later plays guitar in public places and forms a band with a bassist and a drummer, performing regularly in bars around the city.

She releases her first studio album, Desde Mi Ventana (From My Window), at the age of 24. The album is produced by Cachorro López, brings her wider attention, and earns a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. It also sells 35,000 copies in Colombia and receives a gold certification.

Ilona also collaborates with other artists, including Argentine musician León Gieco on the duet “En La Zona” and the English boy band Blue on the song “One Love”.
