Ian F.

Ian F. is a DJ and producer from Slovenia. He begins working in a club scene in Slovenia in 1997, at the age of 16, at Ambasada Gavioli, a venue associated with the country’s electronic music scene. Meeting and performing with internationally known DJs shapes his approach to music and mixing, and he develops a style built around accessible funky-tech grooves alongside progressive, tech-house and electro breakbeats.

DJ work and residencies

He performs widely across Slovenia and later in neighbouring countries, appearing at major festivals and events with a range of other DJs. He also holds residencies in Slovenia at SubSub and in Croatia at Colosseum. His performances are described as highly transitional, with a style based on constant movement between tracks and moods.

Collaborations and projects

Ian F. works with several other artists and groups over time. His projects include Flux, Lounge invaders, Nu:loop and Pornoteenz, the last of which he forms with Matthew Hoag and Comrade. He also cooperates with the SDJF group and with Annunaki Records.

Releases and label activity

His first releases appear on Annunaki Records. He also has material associated with Pure Substance Records and F-recordings, among other labels. Alongside his DJ work, he focuses on developing his own productions and music identity.
