IAMTHESHADOW

IAMTHESHADOW is a Portuguese darkwave group active since 2015, centred on musician Pedro Code. Code is also associated with The Dream Collision and Rainy Days Factory.

Style and background

The project draws on coldwave, dark wave, indie rock, and post-punk, and it is linked with Gothic Rock as well. Its sound is described through influences from the darker, sharper side of 1980s music, with an emphasis on dense atmosphere, melody, and a deep vocal delivery.

Pedro Code presents the project as a form of dark romance, built around synthesised textures and a soft but heavy mood. The music is framed by recurring themes of desire, fear, and emotional intensity.
