House of Protection

House of Protection is a United States group formed by Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta. It works across alternative metal, electronic, post-hardcore and rapcore, and also bridges hardcore, electronica and punk.

The project grows out of the pair’s shared background in heavy music. Aric Improta also works with the experimental rock group Night Verses, while Stephen Harrison has played guitar in The Chariot and both have been involved with Fever 333. House of Protection continues that experience in a new setting, built around improvisation, extremes and freedom of expression.

The group presents itself as a space for ideas that do not fit traditional form. Its music is described as carrying anger, uncertainty, joy and creativity, with an emphasis on pushing beyond expectation and creating a sound that feels open to instinct rather than convention.

House of Protection’s debut single is It’s Supposed To Hurt. It is made with close friends Jordan Fish, formerly of Bring Me The Horizon, and Nick DePirro of Night Verses. The project frames itself as a place where unpredictability is central and where performers and audience are meant to meet on equal terms.
