Hot Chip is an electronic group from London, United Kingdom, active since 2000. The line-up includes Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, Felix Martin, Emma Smith and Rob Smoughton. The group works across alternative dance, deep house, electronic, electronica, electropop and house.

Its core sound is built around Alexis Taylor’s high-pitched vocals and Joe Goddard’s lower vocal style, combined with synthetic, percussive electronics and dance-oriented arrangements. Taylor performs vocals, guitar and keyboards; Goddard contributes vocals, synths and percussion; Doyle plays guitar and sings; Clarke plays synths and guitar; and Martin plays percussion.

Hot Chip is best known for the singles “Over and Over” and “Ready for the Floor”.
