Formed in the early 90's, Hoppa featured Simon Fowler on vocals, Graham Hawkes on guitar, Mark Brady on bass, and Jules on drums.
The band went through a number of name changes in this period, from the rather wordy "Magenta Cytosine", to the much shorter "Tail". The band finally settled on Hoppa which the band felt was a fair reflection of their influences of Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bush.
