Hollywood Beyond
Hollywood Beyond is a British pop group from Birmingham, United Kingdom. The act is associated with singer-songwriter Mark Rogers and is described as being largely a one-man project, although it is also listed as a group with Rogers and Cliff Whyte as members.
Chart success and releases
The first single issued under the Hollywood Beyond name is What's the Colour of Money, which reaches number 7 on the UK Singles Chart in 1986. It also charts in Germany at number 21 and in Switzerland at number 14. The follow-up single, No More Tears, peaks at number 47 in the UK. The album If follows in 1987 on Warner Bros. Records and is produced by Bernard Edwards, Mike Thorne and Stephen Hague.
Mark Rogers and related work
Mark Rogers is credited as the brainchild behind Hollywood Beyond. He also has involvement in the earlier House Music London dance scene, where he runs parties, and later part-owns FreeTown Records, an independent dance label. He also writes a string of dance anthems that achieve success in New York and Canada.
