Here We Go Magic

Here We Go Magic is an indie rock group from Brooklyn, United States, active since 2008. It begins as the solo project of singer-songwriter Luke Temple, who records and performs vocals and guitar under the name. Temple develops the early material over a two-month period of stream-of-consciousness recording in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, and releases a self-titled debut that marks a shift away from his earlier singer-songwriter work.

The debut is recorded at home using analog synthesizers, a cassette 4-track recorder and an SM-57 microphone, giving the music a warm, textured sound. The project then expands into a full band in 2009 with Kristina Lieberson on keyboards, Michael Bloch on guitar, Jennifer Turner on bass guitar and Peter Hale on drums. Turner remains listed among the group’s members.

The band’s second album, Pigeons, is recorded in the Catskills in New York in the fall of 2009 and is released by Secretly Canadian. The group is associated with indie rock and also appears in tags linked to psychedelic, experimental, folk and psychedelic pop.
