Helms Alee

Helms Alee is a Seattle rock band that forms in 2007 and remains active. The group is a trio made up of Ben Verellen, Dana James and Hozoji Matheson-Margullis.

Ben Verellen also appears in Harkonen, Roy and These Arms Are Snakes. Helms Alee releases its self-titled debut and a one-sided debut LP on small labels before its full-length debut Night Terror appears on HydraHead. The band uses shared lead vocals, with all three members taking turns on lead parts and sometimes singing harmonies together.

Its sound combines heavy rock with melodic arrangements. The band is described with links to grunge, metal, rock, sludge, post-hardcore, post-metal, stoner rock and post-rock.
