heavenphetamine

heavenphetamine is a motorik krautrock duo of Hiroki Oda and Sara Oda. Their sound is described as expansive and informed by post-punk and acid house, with tags including psychedelic, synth pop, psych, rock and krautrock.

Debut album

The duo’s debut album is released in 2025 and is recorded in Kyiv with the help of two Ukrainian musicians. The recording takes place amid disruption caused by the invasion of Ukraine, including power outages, missile alarms and time spent in shelters. Those conditions shape the album’s atmosphere and give it a direct, report-like quality, with fear, rage, sorrow and hope present in the music.

The group says it wants listeners both to dance and to listen closely, while remembering people living under the threat of drones and missiles.
