Havok
Havok is an American thrash metal band from Denver, United States, active since 2004. The group is associated with Candlelight Records and is identified primarily with thrash metal, although its music is also described through tags including death metal, technical death metal and metal.
Line-up and membership
The band has a changing membership and has gone through many personnel shifts. The current line-up includes David Sanchez, Pete Webber, Nick Schendzielos and Brett Rechtfertig. Other members linked with the group include Marcus Corich, Haakon Sjoegren, Shawn Chavez, Richie Tice, Tyler Cantrell, Justin Cantrell, Ryan Alexander Bloom, Scott Fuller, Jesse de los Santos, Reece Scruggs and Mike Leon. Sanchez remains the central original member.
Releases
Havok has released five studio albums: Burn, Time Is Up, Unnatural Selection, Conformicide and V. Each album features a different line-up.
Style and context
The band’s music draws on 1980s thrash metal and also reflects influence from the New wave of British heavy metal, death metal, hardcore punk and progressive rock and metal. Along with bands such as Bonded by Blood, Evile, Hatchet, Municipal Waste and Warbringer, Havok is associated with the thrash metal revival scene that develops in the late 2000s and early 2010s.
