Hands Like Houses are a Canberra-based alternative rock, experimental rock and post-hardcore group, active since 2006. The band forms in Canberra, ACT, Australia, and includes Jamal Sabet and Trenton Woodley among its members.

Early releases and recognition

The group releases an EP called Bear in Mind, I'm a Lion and gains attention through the Unearthed competition on Australian alternative radio station Triple J. Their profile grows in the Canberra area, helped by their live performances and distinctive image.

Recording and label history

In 2010, the band goes to Chango Studios in Florida to record material with producer Cameron Mizell. What begins as work on a new EP develops into the group's debut full-length album, Ground Dweller. Hands Like Houses later joins Rise Records, and Ground Dweller is released through the label.
