Haal
Haal are a post-rock band from Bristol, UK. Their music combines post-rock, trip-hop and industrial elements, and is described through a mix of samples, DIY pedals and heavy, layered instrumentation. They also draw on late-1990s and early-2000s influences, with music that brings together caustic and melodic passages, intricate guitar lines, pensive vocals, propulsive drumming, heavy riffs and warped synthesizers.
The band plays live in the UK scene and has toured with Kyoto Kyoto, DITZ, Deliluh, Treeboy & Arc, Butch Kassidy and Gurriers. It appears at festivals including ArcTanGent and Dot To Dot.
Haal's recent singles include "Janus" and "Judy", both of which receive remixes by Water From Your Eyes and Crimewave. Their EP Back To Shilmarine brings together the various strands of their sound into a dense, noisy and highly varied release. The band’s music also draws comparisons with labels and scenes associated with Dischord, Touch & Go and Nothing Records, as well as contemporary UK acts such as SCALER, Famous, deathcrash and LICE.
