Guttersnipe

Guttersnipe is a Swedish punk group from Umeå. It plays Oi! and street punk, and the group is described as a skinhead act. The lineup includes Henrik on bass and vocals, Jocke on guitar and backing vocals, and Uffe on drums and backing vocals.

History

Henke and Jocke play together from 1990 in earlier bands under several names, including I.O.U., Total Chaos, Total Depression and Antagonists. When the then bass player leaves to focus on another band, Henke moves to bass and Guttersnipe begins. The band releases a single and already has a record contract before Fredrik joins in December 1994. Fredrik, who is a guitarist rather than a drummer, takes over drums after two earlier drummers have left; he is later replaced by Uffe.

Style and releases

The group’s music is punk-based and rooted in Oi! and street punk. It receives a strong response for its releases.
