Greg McDonald is an English singer-songwriter who grows up in East Anglia. He forms The Dawn Parade with school friend Nick Morley, and the group becomes a John Peel favourite. McDonald later moves to London and begins working as a solo artist in 2008.

Solo work

His first solo album, Stranger at the Door, appears in 2008. As a solo performer, he is associated with comparisons to Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, and Rolling Stone describes him as a “genius songwriter”.

McDonald also performs live with Gemma Gayner under the names The Scarlet Jacks and McDonald & Gayner.
