Green Angels

Green Angels are a four-piece group drawing on folk, jazz, world, funk and ethnic music. They reinterpret traditional dance tunes from Brittany and central France, bringing older folk material into a contemporary setting.

The group works with rhythms and melodies associated with centuries-old dance music, including material described as some of the original trance dance forms. Their approach combines respect for the source tradition with a playful, distinctive style, resulting in music intended for dancing as well as listening.

Green Angels are described as musicians with diverse talents and musical backgrounds. Their sound is characterised as warm, emotive and strongly danceable, with a mix of spice and lightness that gives their arrangements a modern edge while keeping the folk roots clear.
