Goonies Never Say Die

Goonies Never Say Die are an instrumental rock band from Blackpool in the United Kingdom. They are active from 2007 and work in instrumental, post-rock and rock, with their music also tagged as experimental and ambient.

Releases

The band releases two albums on Deep Elm Records: In A Forest Without Trees and No Words To Voice Our Hopes and Fears. A third album is completed after production but is not issued in finished form because of dissatisfaction with the sound. It later appears in unfinished form as Bright Lights Fading on The Recording Industry Is Dead, Records, a label associated with a member of the band.

Line-up

The line-up for the first two albums is Simon Morgan and BP on guitar, Steve Trenell on bass, Dan Kerr on drums and Jimi MacPhie on piano. For the third album, the line-up changes to Paul Kayley and BP on guitar, Michael Zubine on bass, Dan Kerr on drums and Jimi MacPhie on piano.

After the band

The group splits amicably, with the members later continuing to work together in other projects. Simon Morgan and BP play in Beneath The Watchful Eyes, BP and Dan Kerr play in Dinosaurs Are Shit Dragons and I Drink Therefore There's Darkness, and BP and Steve work in Oceans Over Alderaan. Simon also releases music with Blanket, while BP releases music with Those Fucking Snowflakes.
