Good Morning

Good Morning are an American hardcore punk band that is active from 1996 and is based in Minneapolis. The act is described as a recording project led by Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons, who meet in high school and continue writing songs together after that. In 2013, they share a Foxtex 4-track tape machine, and Good Morning emerges from that setup.

Releases

The band releases two EPs, Shawcross in 2014 and Glory in 2016. Their debut LP, Prize // Reward, appears in 2018 through Bedroom Suck Records. Further releases follow in 2019, with The Option and Basketball Breakups, then Barnyard in 2021 and Good Morning Seven and The Accident in 2024. They also issue a number of singles, usually in double-sided form, and at one point tease a compilation of those singles.

Collaborators and labels

Good Morning work with a range of collaborators in both studio and live settings, including Dannika Horvat, Dylan Young, Glenn Blair, Greer Clemens, James Macleod, Joey Alexander, John Considine, Liam “Snowy” Halliwell and Mikey Young. Glenn Blair is Stefan Blair’s father. The band is affiliated with Polyvinyl, Sub Pop, Bedroom Suck, Our Golden Friend and its own label, Good Morning Music Company Worldwide (GMMCW).

Touring and recognition

The group tours with acts including Frankie Cosmos and Waxahatchee. It also receives co-signs from Tyler, The Creator and A$AP Rocky. Its sound is described as drawing on the jangle-pop side of the Melbourne scene.
