Globo

Globo are a British electronic group from Norwich, active since 1995. They describe themselves as less a conventional band than an experiment, and their work sits around downtempo and electronic music.

Recordings and label work

Since 1995, Globo have released records mainly on the Hydrogen Dukebox label. Their best-known releases include Pro War and This Time It’s Globo, which are described as major electronic works in their catalogue. Alongside albums and singles, they gain singles-of-the-week and albums-of-the-month recognition in publications including DJ, NME, Melody Maker and The Guardian.

Broadcast, collaborations and events

The group also creates music for BBC comedy programmes, including Lee & Herring’s Fist of Fun. They host multimedia art and music events, among them the launch of Mark Mothersbaugh’s art exhibition. Their cover project Globo’s This Nation’s Saving Grace reworks the full 1985 album by The Fall, using guest singers and musicians from Bearsuit, Fuck Dress, The Neutrinos and Mia Vigar alongside the band’s own electro-based production.
