Gibran Alcocer

Gibran Alcocer is a Mexican pianist, composer and producer from Yucatán, Mexico, originally from Mérida. He works in modern classical music and has been immersed in music since childhood, beginning with piano lessons before continuing with classical music studies. He develops his composition and production work from the age of 12.

Career

In 2021, Alcocer starts sharing piano cover performances on TikTok, where he becomes known to a wider audience. In early 2022, he begins composing instrumental music. His first original piece, Idea 10, is a self-composed, produced and performed piano solo released in July 2022, and it gains wide attention on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.

After that, he continues to write and release original pieces including Idea 22, Idea 1, Idea 9 and Idea 15. He titles these works in numerical order while developing them and releases them only when he feels satisfied with them.

Collaborations and wider recognition

In July 2023, producer and artist Tainy invites Alcocer to work as a composer and producer on the album Data. In the same month, Idea 1 is used by DJ and producer Atmozfears to create The Soul, a track featured at the closing ceremony of Defqon.1 Weekend Festival.

His music reaches listeners around the world through streaming platforms and is used by content creators in videos across different platforms.
