Gavin Osborn

Gavin Osborn is a singer-songwriter whose work sits in folk and acoustic music. His first record is In The Twee Small Hours, and his second record is Meeting Your Heroes. The second album is built around songs about love, heartbreak and nostalgia, and includes live favourites such as “Charlie’s 18th Birthday”, “Sweet Bedford” and “FM2030”, a song about the cryogenically frozen futurist Robert Ettinger.

Work and performances

Osborn writes and performs material for live settings as well as recorded releases. He has written for and performed on BBC Radio 4 and Resonance FM. He also performs with poet-songwriter-comedian John Hegley, and tours with Tellison and Encyclopedia. He has toured Australia and has appeared at the Latitude Festival. He also performs three new story shows with Daniel Kitson, does a run of shows at the Edinburgh Festival, and appears at Regent’s Park.

Collaborations and live appearances

His live work extends beyond his own shows. He ends 2008 at a sold-out Hammersmith Apollo performance alongside Jarvis Cocker, Malcolm Middleton, Stewart Lee, Ricky Gervais and Robin Ince.

Osborn says his influences range from Loudon Wainwright III to R. Kelly.
