Galia Arad is an American singer-songwriter from Bloomington, Indiana, based in Dublin, Ireland. Her work sits within indie folk, indie and singer-songwriter traditions, and she also performs as a female vocalist.

Career and touring

Arad tours in the USA, Ireland, England and Japan. In England, she supports Jools Holland on tour.

Recognition

She wins the Songwriter Hall of Fame’s Abe Olman Award for Excellence in Songwriting and also wins The Great American Song competition.

Recordings and collaborators

Her sophomore album Ooh La Baby includes liner notes by Shane MacGowan of The Pogues, who also appears on two tracks. Her folk-pop album also features guitarist Marc Ribot, Bashiri Johnson, Elvis Costello’s rhythm section and other musicians.
