Fuzzbox Inc
Fuzzbox Inc are a group of two DJs and producers working in funk-led club music. They describe their approach as drawing on hip hop, funk, breaks, disco, drum and bass and related styles, with a focus on edits and mixes built around what they call “everything with a bit of funk”.
DJ work and club presence
The pair build their reputation through club DJing as well as production. They have been active on the club scene for several years and run the night Ultrafunkula at Pure in Jersey, which becomes one of the venue’s established nights after four years.
Their DJ sets move across a wide range of dance music styles, including hip hop, funk, breaks, disco and drum and bass, with material positioned between those genres rather than within a single fixed sound.
Production, edits and radio support
Interest in their production work grows quickly, with artists including Ali B and Fort Knox Five requesting edits from them. They also provide mixes for Kiss FM, RTE Ireland, XFM Radio and Rai, the national radio station in Italy.
Fuzzbox Inc produce edits of funk tracks that attract support from a number of DJs and acts, including A-Skillz, DJ Nu-Mark of Jurassic 5, Ali B, Fort Knox Five, Tom Middleton, Yoda, the Cuban Brothers, Parker and BeatVandals.
Label and remixes
The duo are signed to Bombastic Jam Records, the label owned by Basement Freaks. They are also commissioned to remix tracks for a number of artists and groups, including Fort Knox Five, Beat Monkeys featuring UK hip hop artist TY, Badboe and Dirty Dubsters.
The remix work mentioned includes Fort Knox Five’s “Papa Was Stoned” and “Sax Pusher”, Beat Monkeys feat. TY’s “For the People”, Badboe’s “Loose your Funky Self” and Dirty Dubsters’ “One Day”.
Live appearances
Fuzzbox Inc have played Fabric in London and festival appearances include Snowbombing in Austria, Shambhala in Canada and JerseyLive in Jersey.
