Futurebound

Futurebound is the DJ and producer Brendan Collins from Liverpool, United Kingdom. He works in drum and bass and is associated with neurofunk and liquid funk. He is known both for club DJ sets and for production, and he develops his career under the name Futurebound as well as through collaborative projects.

Early career

He starts attending illegal raves in 1989 and leaves a possible football career to focus on dance music. Early influences include Fabio, Grooverider, Mickey Finn and Top Buzz. In 1991 he secures a hometown residency, where he warms up for Carl Cox, Grooverider and Sasha. By the early 1990s he is also promoting his own events and booking artists such as LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Ray Keith and 4-Hero. In 1999 he launches the X events, which become part of Liverpool’s club history.

Production and releases

Futurebound begins releasing music in 1993, first with local producers. Later production and remix work follows with J Majik, Matrix, Digital and Adam F. His recordings appear on labels including Infrared, Timeless, Moving Shadow and Frequency. The verified label information also places him on Viper Recordings and FBAudio.
