Fuel Fandango

Fuel Fandango is a Spanish group formed in 2010 by Alejandro Acosta and Nita. The act combines flamenco, pop and rock with electronic, funk and other dance-oriented elements, and it is built around the contrast between Acosta’s production background and Nita’s voice and flamenco-rooted delivery.

Members and background

Alejandro Acosta is also known as Ale Acosta. He works as a DJ and producer and is associated with Mojo Project, for which he has three albums released. His earlier work also brings him two Spanish Music Awards nominations and a Latin Grammy nomination for Producer of the Year. He has also worked as a mixer for artists including Buika, José Mercé, Ojos de Brujo and The Pinkertones. Nita is a singer from Córdoba, and her style is described as drawing on flamenco and black music.

Style and live work

The group’s sound is described as organic and electronic, with rock, funk and a subtle southern flamenco influence. Their performances are central to the project, with the music designed for dancing and a strong live presence.

Early recognition

Fuel Fandango place third in the Heineken Greenspace V Edition in late 2009, competing against more than 1,400 bands. They are also finalists in The Music Think Tank International Awards, becoming the first Spanish band to reach that final.
