From the Kites of San Quentin are a Manchester group formed in 2009. Their music sits between glitch electronica, future dub and experimental hip hop, and the band also draws on progressive rock influences such as Yes and Rush.

The group builds a style that combines bass-heavy electronic production with elements associated with experimental beat-making. Their influences also include Flying Lotus, Burial and Hudson Mohawke, alongside the classic prog rock they cite in their sound.

From the Kites of San Quentin perform in Manchester’s live scene and share stages with acts including Dub Trio, The Pan I Am, DJ Kid Kanevil, Max Tundra, Kayo Dot, Ital Tek, Mount Kimbie, Lazer Sword and The Glitch Mob.
