Friends Again

Friends Again are a UK new wave and pop-rock group formed in Glasgow, Scotland, in 1982. The line-up comprises Chris Thompson on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, James Grant on lead guitar and vocals, Neil Cunningham on bass, Paul McGeechan on keyboards, and Stuart Kerr on drums.

Career

The band first releases are three singles, "Sunkissed", "Honey at the Core", and "State of Art", issued on Moonbot Records before the group signs to Mercury Records. They then release a self-titled EP in 1983 and record their debut album, Trapped & Unwrapped, in 1984. That album includes "South Of Love", their final single, and its sound ranges from 1970s-style funk to soulful ballads.

Later history and legacy

Trapped & Unwrapped receives mixed reviews and does not sell well. James Grant leaves in 1984 and Friends Again break up. Grant goes on to form Love and Money in 1985 with the rest of the band, while Chris Thompson later creates the Bathers in 1987. Although the group is short-lived, it is noted for helping to shape the emerging sound of later Scottish bands.
