French Quarter

French Quarter is a song-oriented performance project by Stephen Steinbrink. It first runs between 2004 and 2008, and Steinbrink later brings the name back for a co-release on GILGONGO and LIFE'S BLOOD called It's Not Just Kissing. The project is listed as a group with Steinbrink as the sole member.

Background

Steinbrink is born in Phoenix, Arizona, and also records and performs under his own name. Under that name, he releases Ugly Unknowns in January 2009 and tours extensively in North America. Since 2004, he records and sells eight DIY releases and tours widely in the United States.

Releases

French Quarter’s self-titled debut long-player, French Quarter, is released in 2008 on GILGONGO RECORDS, a Tempe, Arizona punk label. The project’s later release, It's Not Just Kissing, appears as a co-release between GILGONGO and LIFE'S BLOOD.

The project is associated with lo-fi, folk, country, acoustic and indie pop.
