Free Nationals
Free Nationals are a Los Angeles group active since 2010, known for working as Anderson .Paak’s live band. The group includes Anderson .Paak, Callum Connor, Kelsey Gonzalez, Jose Rios and T. Nava. Their sound is associated with neo soul, psychedelic soul and R&B, and they are also described as working across funk, soul, neo-soul and alternative R&B.
The lineup named in the group’s own release activity centres on bassist Kelsey Gonzalez, keyboard and vocoder player Ron “Tnava” Avant, drummer Callum Connor and guitarist José Rios. In 2019, they release their self-titled debut album, which features collaborations with Mac Miller, Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Conway the Machine and Westside Gunn.
