Fred Falke is a French producer and remixer associated with electroclash and French house. Born in 1973, he starts out as a bass player around 1995 before moving into production in the late 1990s.

Early releases with Alan Braxe

Falke first comes to prominence through his partnership with Alan Braxe. Their first record together is Intro, released in 2000 on Vulture Music, and it samples The Jets’ 1987 hit Crush On You. The pair then issues a series of 12-inch releases on Vulture Music and Kitsuné, including the synth-pop-influenced 2003 track Rubicon. These recordings later appear on Braxe’s 2005 compilation The Upper Cuts.

Remixing and collaboration

Falke and Braxe develop into sought-after remixers, working on tracks by Death from Above 1979, Kelis, Goldfrapp, Röyksopp, Justice and others. Their partnership lasts until 2008. Falke also works with German house producer Kris Menace, remixing Menace’s 2004 single Missile Test as part of Menace & Adam and appearing on the 2006 single Fairlight.

Solo work and production credits

Falke releases a small number of solo singles and EPs, beginning with Omega Man in 2006. Much of this material is gathered on his 2011 album Part IV, issued on Kris Menace’s Work It Baby label. Beyond his own releases, he builds a reputation for remixes that add disco guitar and electro-house elements to songs by pop, rock, R&B and dance acts including Hot Chip, VHS or Beta, Ke$ha, Sia, Katy Perry and Lana Del Rey.

Other songwriting and production work

Falke also co-writes and produces songs for British pop artists including Ellie Goulding, Florrie and Will Young. Additional collaborations mentioned include Savage, Miami Horror and Knightlife, and he also works with Xenomania.

He is connected with the acts Defender, Alan Braxe & Fred Falke, and Ampersounds.
