Frankie Boyle is a comedian from Glasgow, Scotland, born in 1972. He wins the Daily Telegraph Open Mic competition in 1996 and then becomes a regular compere at club nights across the UK.

Stand-up and live comedy

Boyle builds his live career through the Edinburgh Fringe, where he headlines The Comedy Zone at the Pleasance and appears in a 2003 show with The Reverend Obadiah Steppenwolfe III, played by Jim Muir. His solo work also includes The Voice of Black America and Morons, I Can Heal You.

Television work

He becomes widely known for his appearances on BBC2's Mock the Week and also appears on 8 Out of 10 Cats, They Think It's All Over, Law of the Playground and FAQ U. He also appears on BBC Scotland's Live Floor Show, where he also writes, and contributes to Channel 4's Law of the Playground.

Writing and radio

Boyle writes for several television series, including 8 Out of 10 Cats, the UK version of Live Floor Show, 2DTV and 29 Minutes of Fame. His radio work includes appearances in Miles Jupp's Radio 4 series, and he also serves as team captain on BBC Radio Scotland's Spin on This and Famous for 5 Minutes.
