Fox Avenue
Fox Avenue is a pop rock group from Helsinki, Finland, active from 2002. The line-up includes Samu Haber, Riku Rajamaa, Jukka Backlund, Osmo Ikonen, Sami Osala and Raul Ruutu.
Overview
The group performs pop rock and writes its own material. It builds a close relationship with listeners and maintains an active online presence, responding to letters, emails and comments.
Early releases and activity
Fox Avenue’s first EP, Four For Four, is produced by Niall Breslin of The Blizzards and recorded in The Nutshed studios in Ireland. The release is a four-track EP sold at live shows. The song “Tonight” reaches the Zoo Crew Hot 30 on Irish radio station SPIN 1038.
Live work and media appearances
The group plays with 30 Seconds to Mars, Carolina Liar, Elliot Minor and The Mission District. It also appears live on television programmes including The Café on RTÉ 2 and Pop 4 on TG4, and performs on radio sessions for Today FM, Dublin’s 98, SPIN 1038 and FM104. Its first headline show in Dublin sells out four weeks in advance.
Reception and online following
Fox Avenue records more than a quarter of a million plays on MySpace and develops a substantial fan base around its live shows and online activity.
