Fort Lean

Fort Lean is a Brooklyn indie rock group active since 2011. The group consists of Jake Aron and Sam Ubl, and it is associated with Big Deal Music.

The project’s name suggests a place or setting, and its imagery centres on an idealised outdoor scene: warm weather, sleeping in a park, drinking at a picnic, leaving the city, and being near a skyline without the noise of cars. The picture it creates is of a secluded, urban edge location where wine is kept cool in a stream, a fire dies down, and the night sky is visible.
