Forest Floors

Forest Floors is a group from the United States. It starts as a three-piece led by Jamie Ski, who writes the material and drives the band forward. Early studio recordings use two guitar parts, so the group adds a second guitarist for live performance and then works and records as a four-piece for a little over a year and a half.

Line-up and formation

After that period, the band returns to its original three-piece format in late 2012. The change comes from a sense that the three-piece line-up has more energy. In this configuration, Forest Floors releases its first studio single, No Smoke.

Recording and releases

No Smoke is self-funded and recorded over five days in a rehearsal room in Portsmouth. The band is described as an indie rock act with a direct, fast-paced sound built around driving guitar, rhythmic bass, catchy riffs, drums and sing-along vocals.

Critical response

Forest Floors receives several favourable comments from broadcasters and local press, with remarks highlighting its energy, tight playing, character and variety between songs. The group is also described as a no-nonsense indie rock band with a distinct style.

Activity

The band is presented as continuing to grow and as planning touring and a possible album.
