Forbidden Society is the solo project of Jindra, a Czech drum and bass producer from the south of Czechia. He begins working with electronic music around 1998 and first performs under the name Noize Punishment after moving away from an initial project with JayB called Desert Storm Breakcore Squad, a hardcore-speedcore-jungle act formed in the same year.

Under the Noize Punishment name, Jindra draws on influences from digital hardcore and breakcore punk, alongside earlier interests in grindcore, punk and metal. From 2001 he performs live across Europe, including at Berlin’s Fuckparade and in clubs in Berlin, London and Czechia. Releases from this period appear on labels including Dyslexic Responses, KoolPop and Hardliner Recordings.

After several years of experimentation, he turns to drum and bass and launches Forbidden Society. Early releases appear on labels such as Mindsaw, Nightmare, Jungle Therapy and Hardline. By 2010 the project gains wider recognition, and he issues music on labels including Freak, PRSPCT, Obscene and Algorythm. His sound incorporates elements ranging from amen to crossover and upfront drum and bass.

In 2010 he starts Forbidden Society Recordings, a label that releases not only his own work but also music by artists including Current Value, Counterstrike, Donny, Katharsys, Dub Elements, Receptor and Computerartist. The label focuses on vinyl release culture and also runs a recurring label night at Prague’s Cross Club, later taken to venues in Slovakia and Japan.

His debut album, To The Threshold, appears on Forbidden Society Recordings in 2012. The label’s FSRECS009 release pairs his collaboration with Donny, Creator & Destroyer, with Audio’s track Burn It Down. Jindra also tours in Japan, including performances in Tokyo and Osaka.

Forbidden Society is associated with drum and bass and electronic music, and Forbidden Society Recordings is his own label.
