First Strike

First Strike

First Strike is a name used by several different rock and metal acts. One is a Christian hard rock band from California that releases Rock of Offense in 1984. Another is a Canadian heavy metal band from the 1980s. A third is a UK-based party rock group active in the late 2000s, drawing on metalcore, glam metal, pop and new wave, and appearing at Download Festival 2009, on Red Bull Bedroom Jam broadcasts, and in the final of the UK-wide Live & Unsigned competition.

First Strike is also the name of a U.S. Oi band that starts in winter 1994/95. This group is based in New York City, has a raw street sound and direct lyrical style, and reforms in 2008. It plays occasional shows around the NYC area.
