Firestations

Firestations are a London dream-pop and indie-pop group. The line-up includes Bit Cloudy, Laura Copsey and Martin Thompson, and the band also draws on members of Astronauts, Dark Captain, Quickspace and Left With Pictures.

Style and sound

Their songs combine pop structures with collective noise-making and bursts of electronic sound from synthesiser and guitar. Their music is compared to scuzzy indie-pop and spacey folk, with references to Veronica Falls, the Wave Pictures, Pentangle and Tunng, and to the focused arrangements associated with Stereolab. The quieter songs point towards bruised, restrained songwriting in the vein of Sparklehorse, Yo La Tengo, Low and American Analog Set.

Debut album

Their debut album, Never Closer, is recorded to 8-track tape at Sound Savers and at the band’s home studio. It is preceded by the single Forgetful Man.
