Finger Eleven

Finger Eleven are a Canadian rock band from Burlington, Ontario. The group is active from 1996 and is associated with alternative metal, alternative rock, hard rock, metal, nu metal and post-grunge.

Career

The band begins under the name Rainbow Butt Monkeys, and their first album, Letters From Chutney, is recorded under that name after they win money in a local radio rock band contest. They later rename themselves Finger Eleven, taking the new name from an earlier version of the song “Thin Spirits” from the album Tip.

Their breakthrough album, Tip, appears on Mercury Records in Canada and is later re-released by Wind-Up Records in the United States. Shortly after that period, drummer Rob Gommerman leaves and Rich Beddoe joins the band. In 2000, they release The Greyest of Blue Skies.

Commercial success and key recordings

Their 2003 self-titled album, Finger Eleven, is a commercial success and includes “One Thing”, which reaches No. 16 in the United States. The band also records “Slow Chemical” for WWE wrestler Kane and “Daaam!” featuring Tha Alkaholiks on the compilation Loud Rocks.

Them vs. You vs. Me is released in 2007 and includes the singles “Paralyzer”, “Falling On”, “I’ll Keep Your Memory Vague” and “Talking To The Walls”. Life Turns Electric follows in 2010 and features “Living in a Dream”, “Whatever Doesn't Kill Me”, “Stone Soul” and “Pieces Fit”.

The band’s line-up includes Scott Anderson on vocals, Rick Jackett and James Black on guitar, Sean Anderson on bass, and Rich Beddoe on drums. Other members associated with the group include Rob Gommerman, Steve Molella and James Black.

Reputation

Finger Eleven are best known for “One Thing”, “Slow Chemical” and “Paralyzer”, and they build a substantial following through their rock releases.
