Fickle Friends

Fickle Friends are an indie pop and electropop group from Brighton, England, formed in 2013. The band’s line-up includes Natassja Shiner, Sam Morris and Chris Hall. Shiner handles vocals and keyboard, Morris plays drums, and Hall is credited on lead guitar; Harry Herrington and Jack Wilson are also part of the earlier line-up described here, with Hall leaving the band in January 2019.

Formation and line-up

Shiner meets Morris at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, then meets Hall, Herrington and Wilson the following year at BIMM Brighton. The group develops in Brighton and becomes active on the live circuit from 2013 onwards.

Touring and label

Before signing a record deal, the band tours the UK and Europe for two years without a label or publisher and plays 53 festivals across that period. They then sign to Polydor Records.

Albums

The band records its debut album in Los Angeles with Mike Crossey. You Are Someone Else is released in March 2018 and enters the UK Albums Chart at number 9, also reaching number 1 in the UK Album Cassette Charts. The second album, Are We Gonna Be Alright?, follows in January 2022.
