Twisterella Festival was launched in 2014 and was the creation of Middlesbrough's most dynamic and forward thinking independent music promoters, Pay for the Piano and The Kids Are Solid Gold.

The festival takes place around the University area of town which is located on Linthorpe Road & Southfield Road, and the 1000 capacity festival utilises some of the well established music venues including Teeside University Students' Union, The Keys and The Westgarth Social Club.

Some of the brightest emerging national and international music talent will perform across the stages showcasing both local and regional acts. Previously acts such as Mumford & Sons, The Vaccines, The 1975, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Palma Violets and Frank Turner have performed at the festival.

2015's festival is set to take place on 10th October and boasts performance from acts such as Allusondrugs, Beach Baby, Billy The Kid, Fatherson and Washington Irving.
